“Fighting daily battles in your mind because of a poisonous relationship is NEVER ok,” said Marlo

Marlo Mortel wrote a song for people experiencing psychological abuse — an uncommon situation in relationships.

Released on Good Friday through his IGTV (Instagram TV), Marlo said the main purpose of the song, titled “Racing Waters,” is to raise awareness regarding such situation.

“Fighting daily battles in your mind because of a poisonous relationship is NEVER ok. For it has never been LOVE if you are made to feel worthless. Never feel less. Save yourself and reach out to those who truly care,” he wrote.

In another post, Marlo said he wanted to “open people’s eyes on how it feels to slowly lose yourself in the process of chasing something you thought was beautiful but the reality is you‘re being blinded, tortured & manipulated.”

“It’s never too late to realize and open yourself up to LOVE that truly counts, from friends, family, & God. Love should make you feel alive, not the other way around,” he added.

For Marlo, when trapped into a toxic relationship — “no matter how hard it is, if you are in one, I encourage you to fight hard and get out before you completely drown.”

“Racing Waters” is among the songs Marlo wrote during the enhanced community quarantine being imposed in the entire Luzon to fight the spread of COVID-19.
